Daniel Maksymchak, CPA, CA, CIRP, Trustee
Daniel is an expert in the insolvency field and has helped people with their personal and corporate financial issues since 2010.
Daniel was born in Winnipeg and, after university, began articling for the Chartered Accountant designation in Kenora in 2007. He completed his articling and received his CA designation in 2009, and then moved into the insolvency group at Grant Thornton. Once in the insolvency group, he found that he really enjoyed helping businesses and consumers with their debt restructuring needs. As a result, he completed the Insolvency Counsellor's Qualification Course and the Insolvency Administration Course and began working in the field full time. Shortly after that, Daniel enrolled in the program to obtain his trustee licence. After completing each of the qualification exams on his first attempt, he obtained his Trustee in Bankruptcy licence from the federal government in 2014.
Currently, Daniel is a manager in the Recovery and Reorganization group at Grant Thornton. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. He has practiced exclusively in insolvency matters since 2010.
As well, Daniel is an important member of the Central Region team in Grant Thornton's Personal Bankruptcy business unit and brings personal and corporate experience in insolvency work to this role. He has worked with both debtors and lenders, and has advised companies facing financial difficulty. He has helped find solutions to personal and corporate insolvency matters in a variety of industries; including retail, manufacturing, forestry, construction, restaurants and professional services.
Daniel takes a great deal of satisfaction from working on behalf of Manitobans and Northwestern Ontarians, helping them to regain financial control of their finances and providing them with the tools to build a financially secure future.
